HURRICANE KATRINA CLEAN-UP APPLICATION
3R, Inc. is a sub-contractor for a major contract holder for disaster relief for the states of Alabama, Texas, Florida, Mississippi, Georgia, and Louisiana. The devastation of the gulf coast area requires many types of workers. Our advance crew will have more definite requirements by Monday or Tuesday of next week (September 5-6, 2005). Every week the heaviest needs seem to be for equipment operators such as fork lifts, front end loaders, bobcats, backing hoes, track hoes, etc. General laborers will also be needed for functions such as manual debris removal, manning pumps, etc. This will be working in poor living conditions which will more than likely require sleeping in tents (probably air conditioned), rationed food and water. Pay rates will be set by FEMA. If you decide to apply for work under these conditions you are cautioned that you may not have the opportunity to leave the area at your convenience. You must be reliable and be able to start on short notice and stay as long as it takes. You must have the mental strength to deal with the sight and smell of dead and decaying animals, fish, and possibly human remains. You must be in good health due to lack of medical facilities in the affected areas. You must be prepared to work 11-16 hours per day every day per week. If you do not perform you will be dismissed. There will be 40 hours per week at straight time and 42-72 hours per week overtime. Having completed 40 hour OSHA CFR 1910 HAZWOPPER training first with certificate will be helpful.
